Kitchenaid makes larger and more powerful mixers like their 600 Pro series, 6000 series and their commercial series mixers such as the 800. This mixer is the introduction to the Pro line series. Their motors are all metal and if the motor over heats it shuts off to protect the motor before it over heats. If this happens, you have to keep the mixer off for 45 minutes to cool it down.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased this mixer for my daughter in Empire Red. They have other colors of course. It is a great mixer. I have yet to see a KitchenAid mixer that was a dud.
