Gets the job done just as I expected it would
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've recently started baking because one can only handle eating, sleeping, and breathing information technology for so long. One of the things I like making are cheesecakes. I have an older Betty Crocker branded hand mixer but it was getting cumbersome mixing this type of batter, especially when you went beyond a couple of 8oz packages of cream cheese. I looked at other brands, but like anything today, many of them had 8%, 9%+ negative (i.e. - 1-star) reviews. While the KitchenAids do have some negative reviews, they were farther and fewer in-between. So I bought this one about a month ago. I finally got to use it this past Thursday night for a "Cheesecake Bake Off" we were having at a departmental meeting. It performed as I hoped it would, even with up to two pounds of cream cheese and the subsequent batter. Yes, there are times you'll have to stop and knock the batter off of the paddle, but sometimes you can lower the bowl, turn the speed up a bit, and it'll knock it off for you. Overall, I'm happy with it and can't wait for more adventures with the KitchenAid. And yes, they are somewhat loud, but thing about what it's doing - this thing is powerful. I'll take it.

Great buy that was to good to bypass
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wife was looking at a KitchenAid mixer and waiting for the price breakpoint she was comfortable with. I saw this and figured I would surprise her with it. It didn’t tilt but had more power than what she wanted. She has used it and the only issue was the mix turning grey from the bowl that we thought we had cleaned. The accessories seemed cheap but she was able to use other attachments that we already had. Will review again at the six month mark.

Worth the wait for a deal
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this mixer on sale plus my birthday discount for 199.99 plus tax The good: This is my first mixer and I am loving it. So far I have made: chocolate chip cookies, bread, cheesecake, and Chinese steamed buns. The mixer attachments evenly distribute and mixes. Any food residues on the sides can be easily swept back down with a silicone spatula. I've heard people complain how the lift design hinders adding ingredients and removing the bowl. In my experience, when I turn off the mixer and lower the bowl, there is plenty space to add ingredients. If the attachment is in my way, I just pulse the mixer to move the arm out of my way. When you remove the bowl, you often will need to remove the attachment first. This is a very minor inconvenience since I am usually done with the mixer when I remove the bowl. If I need to use the attachment later, I just leave it on a plate until I am ready to reattach. I read another review complain the attachments were scratching the bowl causing metal particulates in the food. Those that have this problem should know there is a screw on the mixer that allows you to adjust the proximity of the attachments to the bowl. My mixer was perfectly adjusted from the factory. My attachments move very close to sides of the bowl without touching or scratching. Ive had this mixer for six weeks and I have used it at least once a week. Since the pandemic I wanted to try something new and I chose baking and this mixer is the perfect accessory. In addition I have developed lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) so this mixer takes all of the pain away from mixing. The bad: This mixer is pretty big and heavy. I would look up the dimensions of the mixer to make sure it can fit your accommodations and I recommend you choose a permanent place for it so you dont have to move the mixer often. Recommendations: I would recommend this for anyone who plans on making lots of dough. I have read that the professional series has stronger gears that facilitate dense foods. This is my first mixer so unfortunately, I don't have anything else to compare with. I would purchase a cover for this mixer. This mixer is pretty pig so a cover would protect things from falling or collecting in the bowl. Additionally, if your mixer is near a stove a cover would protect it from food or grease splatter from the stove. I found a good one from amazon and there are plenty designs to choose from

Fast, efficient, powerful
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Powerful mixer, but bulky and loud. Would like the matte black be available soon. I was able to mix 20 batches of 70 ounces of gingerbread dough consecutively without this thing breaking or smoking. Gingerbread dough is thick and sticky! So i think everything else that’s not as thick and sticky will do perfectly fine.

Just what my daughter requested
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had one for years. My daughters birthday/ Christmas request was one in ink blue. Looked all over for ink blue or flat black to no avail. Best Buy had one in their system and they got it to me in time for Christmas. My daughter was ecstatic. Matches her new kitchen perfectly.

Excellent Mixer, Poor Reviews Result of User Error
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a gift for my sister on a whim when it was a 60% off deal of the day. I figured it was high quality as its part of their professional series. Once I pulled the trigger, I began researching customer reviews and identified more than a few negative ratings and experiences. Most centered around the mixer's motors burning out within 18 to 24 months of use. I started to feel a sense of buyer's remorse, thinking I may have selected a defective or poor quality mixer. I warned my sister and she looked into it. Her research showed that the negative reviews were a result of user error and misuse, where most of the owners put dense ingredients into the bowl and immediately kicked the mixer into its highest gear. She told me that not doing that would be common sense for anyone familiar with the appliance, and that perhaps those people were not well informed, and didn't read or follow the instructions and recommendations from Kitchen Aid. I gave her the mixer last week and she was able to run a few test drives, which was a treat for me. Her feedback was extremely positive! She loves the mixer, views it as high quality, and is confident it will stand up to the test of time. For background, she's a moderate to casual user. She uses the mixer to cook and bake for others as well as herself, and also uses the mixer heavily for regular, weekly meal prep. I'm extremely happy with the mixer for its high quality as an appliance and gift for my little sister.

Q: QuestionIf you don't tilt the mixer back, how do you get the bowl out? I looked one at a different store, and it seemed you had to take the attachment out before the bowl could slide out. Seems messy!
Asked by mixerJ.
- A:Answer There is a lever on the right hand side that allows you to raise and lower the bowl. You lower the bowl and then it lifts right out.

Q: QuestionIs this bowl lifter model being discontinued? What is the negative to this feature?
Asked by car66.
This question was asked about the related product: KitchenAid - Professional 5 Plus Series 5 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer - KV25G0XSL - Silver
- A:Answer I certainly hope the bowl lifter version is not being discontinued! I consider that to be an indispensable feature on my decades old Pro Line mixer with a 7 quart bowl. If it ever dies it will definitely be replaced with another bowl lifter model. The bowl lifter feature attaches the bowl very rigidly to the lifter frame, ensuring rock solid stability during use with simple detachment when done. My mixer, like many others mentioned in these posts, Was too tall to fit under our 1970's vintage kitchen cabinets when we first bought it. So when we remodeled several years later an important spec was clearance between counter top and upper cabinet bottoms. We specified this at 1/2 inch greater that the height of the mixer. We never store the mixer on the counter top but the clearance is handy when we need to push the mixer back out of the way temporarily during food preparation. The mixer is stored in a large floor-to-ceiling pantry cabinet with four shallow slide-out drawers in the bottom section. Height from the top of the top drawer to the bottom rail of the upper cabinet is, you guessed it, 1/2 inch greater than the height of the mixer. Making the height of the mixer any less than it is would definitely sacrifice utility of the machine.

Q: QuestionCan I use a standard mixing bowl with this model? That way I don't have to wash the bowl that comes with ro mix the frosting or something else
Asked by Roxana.
- A:Answer No. An ordinary bowl would not work with this mixer. The manufacturer bowl is designed with fittings on the side that secure it into place on the mixer. The bowl-lift feature then raises the bowl to the proper level for mixing, where the beaters clear the edge of the bowl at exactly that height and width. You can purchase additional bowls, however.

Q: QuestionI'm comparing between KV25G0xxx (Pro 5 Plus, this one) and KG25H0xxx (Pro HD). Pro HD is claimed to be all metal, but it's cheaper than this Pro 5 Plus model. Also, I can't really find a downside for Pro HD, but why it's cheaper?
Asked by Nakarin.
This question was asked about the related product: KitchenAid - Professional 5 Plus Series 5 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer - KV25G0XSL - Silver
- A:Answer Check to see if the motor wattage is the same. That is most likely the difference. That is why I bought the pro, the motor has more power. And the pro is all metal, not sure if the hd. Got this helps
