• They are not IP66 rated but I have installed them in similar locations several times and they are just fine. In many cases, they have lasted longer than Outdoor Rated in-ceiling speakers. Just set your expectations that ANYTHING you install outside wont last as long as if it was inside.

• Yes but the grill will rust over time. I've installed these in model homes and when I've gone back to to do the conversion a couple of years later the grills are sometimes rusted over.
