They are not IP66 rated but I have installed them in similar locations several times and they are just fine. In many cases, they have lasted longer than Outdoor Rated in-ceiling speakers. Just set your expectations that ANYTHING you install outside wont last as long as if it was inside.

Yes but the grill will rust over time. I've installed these in model homes and when I've gone back to to do the conversion a couple of years later the grills are sometimes rusted over.
