Hello Mick, unfortunately these can only be hooked up to the soundbar with the included dongle. These speakers receive audio the same way your wireless subwoofer does. There no way to add a smart device to the surrounds since there aren’t any inputs to allow for that set up. If your looking for smart speaker features I recommend you wait for the new klipsch cinema soundbars coming out soon this month at the latest October those will include Alexa and google smart features along with airplay 2. Hope this answers your question.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These speakers require the main Klipsch sound bar so you cannot connect to them directly either way. If you get the Bar 48W variant with wifi it will work with google assistant. The standard Bars without wifi do not. You could connect a home via bluetooth however.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've only ever paired them to a Klipsch sound bar, I don't know if they can be used without one but once paired I've used the entire sound system with Google Home, bluetooth, chromecast and Dell home
