I followed the directions in the manual to connect these speakers to my turntable but I am not hearing any sound. Since there is a pre-amp built in, I shouldn't need an external amp or a receiver, correct? What can I check to fix the problem? null

Make sure the speakers are set to the phono input on the remote. LED light will change colors to know you are in the correct input.

Check the toggle switch on the speaker to ensure phono/turntable is selected.
Also check the back of your turntable for a switch to verify it is selected for line out.
