If you are using 2 subwoofers you would almost certainly want the right and left subwoofers to coraspond to the right and left channels of the audio system. You may only have 1 sub out, but your amp probably has a right and left preout. In most cases the sub out is limited to lower frequencies which makes sense for a subwoofer and the preouts will deliver full range sound to the subwoofer. This particular subwoofer has a frequency limiting adjustment to keep the sub from trying to play higher frequencies. Problem solved.

Since these are splitting a low-level, non-amplified signal that goes to an amplifier, it doesn't mess up the signal and no concerns with impedance martching Yes, they auto-power on and off, a selectable switch on the back.
