Can I just have steam ios on this with out windows ? null

As of October 13th, you can just download the SteamOS public release and install it yourself. It's a straightforward process, follow the instructions on a youtube video. You'll need a USB-C style flash drive though, and a separate computer to download/flash the image. HIGHLY recommend you do this, Windows is just dragging this thing down.
