The built in drive seems fine for loading software, so why would you need an external drive? I have encountered some problems with the drive when reading very long music tracks, but never when loading software. BTW, I have used an external floppy & a zip drive, and the unit has no problems with these peripherals.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and this is exactly what I did....I purchased a fine $34 deal and it works great, all plugged in, software download quick and easy, we are thrilled to bits.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I dont see why not. All you do is plug it in to the USB port and there you go. I would think its no different then any other PC.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I found it interesting the mini came with a year free of Internet security on a disc when it has no drive. I went online or best buy would have them too just get an external DVD burner reader. Make sure it's compatible with windows 8.1 or it will not work. But simply plug in the USB install the device and your good to go.
