It's pretty fast. I bought it for my little brother and I honestly thought it was going to be somewhat slow, but it's pretty fast. I've only had it for a few a weeks so I can't say long-term. I was impressed how fast it booted up and opened tabs. It even ran Forza (a triple A game) in low settings. It's also somewhat light. My only suggestion is to also get her a wireless mouse, since its trackpad is not the best (not terrible either).
