• Microsoft tries to push you to the 365; I myself deleted it all and went with Libre Office; no sales pitches , download off the web for free; just as easy as Microsoft products

• Besides the options offered in other answers, you can buy the non-365 version, or get one of the super-cheap options for 365 (I think it's $2/mo.), or get limited use via the browser for free.
