• Glad that worked out for you. Regarding the original question, I bought this machine and there is an empty DDR slot into which I put 8GB for a total 16GB and I also cloned the system disk to a 1TB Crucial that I had from my old computer. Saved the old Hynix 1/2 length drive as a recovery drive. So this is a great budget computer.

• You know for my needs this laptop is adequate. I have access to the cloud thru Microsoft and my subscription. I’ve primarily utilized the cloud to backup my iPad. However, I had a serious scare when one of my massive excel spreadsheet went kaput on my old HP laptop. I couldn’t retrieve it! I thought I’d have a heart attack. However, I figured out I could retrieve this file by pulling up a previous version. I lost some data that had to be re-keyed, but hallelujah, I got it back.
