Yes, it's a decent size computer and overall runs great, I also bought it for my daughter for school and it works great for what she needs it for.

This is a Windows 10 computer.  Be sure the APPs your child needs to use are compatible with Windows 10 operating system.  We recommend you check with the school for guidance on compatible devices.
