Is there a way to override the brightness of the screen besides asking it to? The device will go through my nighttime routine perfectly(one of the things being to set the brightness to 0%)but once I toggle the mic off it goes back to my default brightness null

Changing the microphone setting initiates an alert from the Google Assistant - The MIC is Muted. Which will default the screen brightness back to 100 Percent. There is no way to override this feature other than not to make any changes to settings after your nighttime routine completes.

Swipe up on the screen from the bottom, then click the brightness setting on the far left.
