• Hi Natalie, the installation manual for the LG - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave - Stainless Steel, Model # LMV1683ST, recommends that you should have a minimum of 30" between the bottom of the upper cabinet that you are installing the microwave under and the countertop or cooktop surface before the microwave is installed. The Microwave has a height of 16 7/16" so that means when it is installed, the bottom of the microwave oven will be 13 9/16" above the cooktop...^IFV
