For a safe and secure installation, the mounting bracket for this microwave must be attached to a solid wall capable of supporting the unit's weight, which is approximately 50-60 lbs. Standard installation requires the bracket to be secured to at least one 2" x 4" wall stud. A 1/8" piece of plywood alone does not provide the structural integrity needed to hold the unit safely.
