I have a nearly recent LG TV, but one of the cheaper 4k ones (not OLED). The TV remote can control the volume, but not the power of the soundbar system. That's all I've tried. I usually put my TV into a dedicated sound mode ("optical only") instead of playing through both sets of speakers.
