Yes, the display on the SN4A will automatically turn off after a period of inactivity to minimize distractions while you're enjoying your shows. It will reactivate when you adjust the volume or change settings. Your best option would be to get the advanced manual which is online and it will show you how to do that with other features the sound bar provides as well.
