“Can you remove and/or turn off the ice maker to have more space in the freezer. Also I don't have a water connection but I'm really interested in this refrigerator.”

You can turn the ice maker off and because it is mounted high in the bottom freezer, it does not take up much space at all. It is important, however, that you remember to turn the ice make switch to the off position if its not hooked up, otherwise you might burn the motor out. We also did not need an ice maker. You will not be disappointed in this refrigerator, We are very happy with our choice.

I don't have this one hooked up for ice & the directions say to turn off the icemaker if not using. Not sure about removing it but it doesn't hang down or take away room in the freezer anyway.
