Hi Personwithafridge. That is more about physics than it is about there being something wrong with the doors and it can happen with any refrigerator. When the door for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 26 Cu. Ft. Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator with Ice Maker - PrintProof™ Stainless Steel, Model # LRDCS2603S is opened, the cold air inside the refrigerator is replaced by warmer air in your kitchen that is at room temperature. When you close the door, the compressor kicks on to cool the refrigerator back down to the set temperature so the pressure inside the refrigerator decreases by about 10% causing a vacuum which makes the door hard to open for about 10 to 15 seconds after closing. Once an equilibrium is reached and the air inside equalizes, the door will open as normal. If your doors are always hard to open: Try rubbing paraffin wax or petroleum jelly along the edges of the entire gasket. Paraffin wax is used for canning and is safe for use around food...^IFV

But either we have adjusted to the extra effort or it becomes easier after it's used for a few days. While still opening a little harder than it does after setting for a minute or two, we no longer have any problem like when it was first delivered.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The funny thing is, this only happens on this refrigerator. All the french door ones open and close with very little effort regardless of when you opened them previously.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I used to work at a place with an industrial frig. and it always did this. So I think that this is a good feature because it as stated has to do with cooling good as fast as possible and the air tightness of the frigerator.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Our does this too. Lots of vacuum after the door shuts. Our upright Frigidaire freezer does this too. I don't think there is a way to fix it as it's more of a feature than a fault. But maybe I'm wrong and someone else can answer.
