We just had this unit installed. It is a surprise to me how warm the instaview door compartment is. It does not keep food at a safe temperature (at or below 40 degrees F). I would not have purchased this unit had I known that this would be an issue. I know that door temps are always higher than interior compartment temps, so I compared the temperatures of our side by side refrigerator door to the instaview door in our new LG. After 30 min without opening our old side by side, its side door temp (with refrigerator temp set at 36F) came in at 38F. After 30 min w/out opening any compartments on our new LG, the instaview door temp (with fridge setting of 34F) comes in at 42F. This is too warm to safely store perishables, especially milk, 1/2 & 1/2 and yogurt. The reason we bought this model was to allow our kids to go in and out of the fridge to grab milk and yogurt without bringing the temperature of the main compartment down. Now we can only safely store non-perishables in the instaview door.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Bought this fridge 3 days ago. It took incredibly long to cool down. In fact, it has not yet cooled the freezer to the -7F setting I chose. I am monitoring temps using a wireless sensor and see a slow, linear decrease, but it looks like it will take more than 3 days to get to -7 F. The main freezer and the convertible freezer appear to have similar temps. The door is an average of 5 degrees warmer than the main fridge section. I have two temp monitors there and can clearly see the delta. I initially planned to keep 4 cartons of different types of milk there since we use those the most. Unfortunately not only is the temperature not measuring warm enough using my sensor, but it is also not actually keeping the milk warm enough (I used a food thermometer and see that it is between 44 and 48 F depending on when I check in the cycle. This isn’t safe for milk. I’m now keeping sauces and maple syrup there since I figure it is less perishable. Had I known I would not have bought this fridge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had this fridge for about a month and just had milk go bad we stored in the bottom of the instaview door. I checked and it was 44 degrees while the inside of the fridge is 37. The top of the door storage was 40, which was better but too short to store milk so I'm leaving sodas up there. Very disappointing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The recommended temperatures for the refrigerator and freezer sections are 37 degrees and 0 degrees. The default freezer temperature is 0°F (-18 °C). Press the Freezer button repeatedly to select a new set temperature from -6 °F to 8 °F (-21 °C to -13 °C). The default refrigerator temperature is 37 °F (3 °C). Press the Refrigerator button repeatedly to select a new set temperature from 33 °F to 46 °F (1 °C to 8 °C). The actual temperature depends on the set temperature, the food stored inside how frequently the refrigerator doors are opened, your homes temperature etc. If you have additional concerns or questions, you can contact our Customer Support by any of the below options: Phone: 1-800-243-0000 LiveChat: https://www.lg.com/us/support/chatbot Email: https://www.lg.com/us/support/email-appointment Facebook Messenger: https://www.facebook.com/LGUSA/ Twitter: @LGUSSupport The LG Community Forum is also a great resource for getting help from other LG customers: https://lgcommunity.us.com/
