To set up the cable remote you have to go online to your cable provider and find the codes for the LG TV. There are usually several different options, so you can either enter each one, one at a time, our let your remote scan to find the right one. The cable provider will explain how to do this. If you have a cable box you have to go through the same procedure. First, you click on the TV button at the top of the remote to program the TV. Once done, click on the cable button to program the cable box. Before you start be sure to set your TV on either channel 3 or 4 using the remote that came with the TV. You'll also have to use the TV remote to select how your TV is connected, such as via an antenna or via cable. If cable you need to select how it is connected. For example, if you have a cable box you'll connect the cable to the box and then connect the box to the TV using an HDMI cable. Then you'll have to select on the TV which HDMI connection you are using, such as HDMI 1 or HDMI 2. After doing all of that you can start programming your cable provided remote. If you can't find how to program your remote online you can go to your cable provider and get a hard copy instruction sheet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Genet. You will need to contact the Support Center for your cable company for instructions on how to set up their "auto power remote" to operate the LG HD 720p LED TV - 28" Class (27.5" Diag), Model # 28LJ400B-PU. Some cable companies have a channel that you can tune to that has instructions that identify the type of remotes they have and how to set them up to work with various TV brands...^IFV
