Monitors do not playback sound, they either have built-in speakers that you can direct the audio that is coming from the devices that the monitor is connected to, or they have a 3.5 mm headphone out port that you can connect external computer speakers to or connect a Soundbar, Home Theater System or external receiver to that has a 3.5 mm AUX In (Portable IN) or the older Red/White RCA Stereo Audio input barrel ports using an appropriate audio cable.
