I had some troubles too with the initial connection of the rear speakers. Turns out that the contacts MUST be snug when plugged in the ports. Otherwise, a poor connection results in no output at all. I trimmed the factory stripped wire (they were too long and exposed), and happened to insert them too far afterwards. Hence, no sound. But, after a few attempts to re-seat the wire, I got sound. The ferrite core is also important...Be sure to loop your wires at least two times (per instruction manual). Finally, if you have the unit set to ASC without surround, there will not be any signal going to the rear. Try setting the system to Bass Boost or Cinema. Your system will set it to surround mode (holding rear speaker volume up button for more than two seconds) or passthrough ( rear speaker volume down button for more than two seconds), and you should get signal then. So far, nothing but incredible sound!
