“Is the HDMI output on this unit a pass-through output or if you use that output does it shut down any of the sound bar features? I want to use the HDMI output to go into a separate stereo system that controls speakers throughout the house and outside”

The SJ4R has two HDMI Ports on it. One of the HDMI ports is an input and the other is an output but it also supports HDMI ARC functionality. HDMI ARC functionality offers a two-way communication between devices over a single HDMI connection so you can use it as both an input and output. However, that only works if the device that you are connecting it to also has an HDMI port that supports HDMI ARC functionality.
