If your fabric softener is too thick, the viscous liquid solidifies or leaves buildup that restricts the siphon tube, leading to poor drainage and leaving the compartment full of water after a wash cycle. To avoid this, dilute the fabric softener with water, clean the dispenser drawer and siphon cap regularly with warm water, or use a small brush to remove residue.
