“Does any one know if you need to connect a dryer to use the steam cycle (Allergine) on my washing machine? I want to know if the washing machine creates it’s own steam independently without the use of a dryer?”

The washer has its own steam setting - independent of the dryer.

After pressing the power button, you can turn the cycle selector to the desired cycle and then press the Steam button for extra cleaning power, select any other options, and then press the Start button. "The steam option cannot be used with all cycles. Do not use steam with delicate fabrics such as wool, silk, or easily discolored fabrics." "By using a hot steam, fabrics get the cleaning benefits of a super hot wash." The same button is also used for Fresh Care. After pressing the power button, you can turn the cycle selector to the desired cycle and then press and hold the Fresh Care button for 3 seconds, select any other options, and then press the Start button. "Use this function when you are not able to take out your clothes as soon as the wash cycle ends. This function provides periodic tumbling for up to about 19 hours to prevent wrinkles."
