The washer is on the bottom with the dryer above it. The doors swing to the left and extend about 24-25 inches out. I absolutely love my LG washer dryer combo. If you go to Best Buy's website and look at the product page, there is a download for the manual and an overview of the product that should give you any other information you might need. The unit is 27 inches wide (4.3 gallon washer) and approximately 31 7/8 inches deep. with the doors open the depth would be around 56 inches deep. I installed mine in the main floor bath so I didn't have to worry about basement stairs and I have no regrets about the purchase.
