QuestionHow long is the drain hose ? We want to place the washer on the left side and the dryer on the right due to the way the doors open and the drain is on the right side. On the pictures, the hose seems long but I saw one in the store and it is short. Thanks

QuestionHow long is the drain hose that comes with the washer? We just installed the new washer and the drain hose is a few inches, at most a foot, short of the pipe. What options do you recommend to extend the hose?

- Answer Hi, To ensure sufficient clearance for water inlet hoses, drain hose and airflow, allow minimum clearances of at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) at the sides and 4 inches (10 cm) behind the washer. The end of the drain hose should be located a minimum of 24" (61 cm) and a maximum of 96" (244 cm) above the bottom of the washer.For best results, locate the end of the drain hose no higher than 66" (168 cm) above the bottom of the washer. As the drain outlet is raised. ^Vanessa

QuestionWhat's the difference between this and the WM3900HWA? Why is this cheaper even though it's newer?

- Answer Cycle, options, and software aside, one can find that the WM3900 weighs 202.8 pounds while the WM4000 weighs 187.4 pounds. I suspect some metal parts in the 3900 have been replaced with plastic in the 4000. This is not necessarily a bad thing - it just depends on exactly which parts were changed or deleted from the design. I did call LG and specifically ask if some metal parts had been changed for plastic, but I was not able to find out what specific parts had been changed.

- Answer If a drain pan must be used, take extra care to follow the instructions provided with the drain pan and make sure the leveling feet are adjusted for firm and even contact with the pan. Use of drain pans and failure to properly level the washer may result in increased vibration and noise during operation. ^Daphane

QuestionThe turbo wash seems like a good feature. My question is, why is it an optional cycle? If the machine comes with turbo wash, why have the option to use it or not? In other words, is there a downside to using turbo wash?
