OLED TVs have special features and settings to preserve image quality and prevent burn in and image retention. First, under OLED Screen Saver there is the Pixel Refresher that calibrates any issues that may arise on the screen when your TV has been turned on for a long time. Calibration takes more than an hour. The second feature that can be employed is the Screen Shift feature which, moves the screen slightly at regular intervals to preserve image quality. A third option is the Logo Luminance Adjustment, which can detect static logos on the screen and reduce brightness to help decrease permanent image retention. ^Daphane

The backlight will eventually go out or weaken over time. With oled, each individual pixel is self-emissive and the organic materials used to create light in the pixels will degrade over time naturally, yet this natural process will speed-up when gaming. This is mainly due to static images on screen that are almost constantly on display, like typical heads-up-display elements (health bar, mini map, etc...). However, the television helps safeguard against this with an automatic brightness limiter, which dims and refreshes pixels that are constantly being used to create the static image(s) on screen. I recommend this television, regardless of the issues. It’s some of the best picture quality money can buy. Definitely get a five-year protection plan.
