“Just set up our new LG-49 (very easy) and can't seem to get the picture quality right. I want a brighter crisp picture. If I get the background right, the foreground is too bright. Anyone know the best settings to get the quality picture I saw in Best Buy”

I just bought the same tv. I had Verizon Fios and the picture wasn’t the best after install but I was changing cable providers a few days later...went with Comcast Xfinity. As soon as the hook up to Xfinity was complete I immediately saw the difference! Picture quality was amazing. My first suggestion would be to change out the cable box. I had the same Fios cable boxes since 2002 and the picture quality may be improved with a newer box. I was switching to Xfinity regardless because of issues with Verizon.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I got my picture to get much brighter by turning off the power saving mode, in the on-screen menu. It seems the brightness is affected ion the power saving mode. Then you can tweak the color, contrast, resolution, etc., to you own taste.
