Picked this TV up today(07/28/2017), and so far so good! I've been searching around all over the place as far as TVs go and finding one that was the best for me. I was going back and fourth only between three brands. Sony, LG, and Samsung and didn't want to buy any other brand but one of those three. I was stuck between this model for either a 43inch or a 49inch and felt like the 49inch tv was going to be too big for my room. I have a medium size room and thought the tv was going to be over whelming in which case it was not! Just need some adjusting too especially coming from a 6-7 year old Sony that was a 32inch. WOW! What a difference. I was looking for two main features in a TV. It needed to be bigger than the TV I upgraded from, and lastly it needed to be 4K. I set this TV up all by myself and it was successful. Only complaints I have is that the remote for the TV was a little confusing and hard to find the buttons especially when your not looking directly at it, and secondly I was having trouble getting the perfect picture up. This doesn't really count because I am not tech savvy with this stuff but other than that, this is a phenomenal TV FOR THE PRICE!!! I tried the normal television for my cable and it was clear BUT nothing compares to the quality of the screen when your playing video games!!!!! The main reason I got this TV was for the Xbox One x when it comes out!!! GOOD JOB LG!!!! So far very impressed with this outcome!!

We just bought (Nov 19 2017) this LG 49UJ6300 4K UHD Smart LED from Best Buy in exchange for a Insignia we had returned. This LG 4K UHD was initially very disappointing but I remember I had a similar problem with another 4K a few months ago until I turned off some of the “smart” controls. In this case just turning off the power saver turned the picture from borderline (almost took it back) to a superior HD crystal clear picture with excellent color. I also went into the manual settings (you have to hunt a bit to find them) such as color, contrast, brightness, backlight, tint, etc and it got even better, then moved onto the advanced settings and it got even better. Now it is an extremely high quality high def picture with excellent color. Considering I only paid $329 in a black Friday sale I am thrilled with the picture now after all the tickering I did with everything. The sound isn’t as rich but is fine for me. The only negative is the remote control in that it seems very low quality and often requires a repeat action with a little more pressure to activate whatever button you are pushing. High marks as usual for Best Buy’s help in exchanging the Insignia we returned for this LG model which has turned out to be a great deal for the price we paid.

I checked numerous reviews, including Consumer Reports, of several major brands of 4K Smart TV's over several days. There were pro and con to many sets and I was actually planning to buy a Samsung, however this set had good reviews and Best Buy had it on sale for a very good price within my budget, so I ended up purchasing the LG. At first I wasn't sure about it, but after having it for a couple of days and making a couple of adjustments I am very happy with it. It turns out to be the correct size for the room I have it in and the picture is excellent! It works well in a bright room if needed, has numerous great extra features and the picture is even good from the side of the set. I also purchased a LG soundbar w/subwoofer to go with it that enhances the sound. Since I haven't wall mounted the set the only con I have about it is the legs on each end instead of a pedestal in the middle which makes it more difficult to place, you need a fairly large piece of furniture to set it on. I still recommend this set if your on a budget.

    Our Best TV Yet

I ordered this online on Black Friday. It was delivered in good shape, and worked out of the box. Took awhile to figure out how to set everything up, but not too long. You can search for online instructions, or use the user guides on the TV itself. I love its energy star rating! The color was excellent. So we didn't adjust that. Absolutely love that we can watch Netflix and Amazon shows without hooking up the laptop. You just enter your username and password once. I was hesitant to order a WebOS TV over a traditional one, but I'm so glad I did. We even receive over-the-air channels after running the auto setup, as well as our cable. There are numerous features we have not even tried yet. And there are more TV application options than we'll ever use. The only con is that we have to use two remotes now for cable TV. It's pretty common in most households, I think. One for our cable service and the LG one for sound and muting. It's understandable that you would need the LG remote, however, to use all of the Smart TV's features. If we're not using cable, we don't have to touch its remote. Overall, it's a joy to have this TV. We didn't know what we were missing when we didn't have a Smart TV. We used an HDMI cable or Google Chromecast to connect our laptop to the TV. That works just fine. But if you can afford it, going to a Smart TV is easier and spoils you a little bit.

There were other TV's of comparable size and price range, but since I was happy with my other LG TV's, I stuck with the brand and I don't regret it. My other LG TV's are premium versions (OLED) and I was concerned that this budget version might not have the same quality. My concerns were unwarranted. Once I got it hooked up, I was amazed to see how precise the picture and colors were. It was beyond my expectations. I have 2 complaints. The first is that the power and component inputs align with the wall mount holes. This is surely a design mistake. I had to use stand-offs in order to attach the wall mount bracket to the back so as not to cover those inputs. (The component input is no biggie, but the power input is kind of important). This isn't an issue at all if you aren't going to wall mount. The second complaint is the height of the included legs. I also purchased an LG sound bar. The legs aren't tall enough for the TV's remote sensor to sit above the sound bar. So the sound bar blocks the remote signal to the TV. (and this is why I ended up wall mounting it) Besides those issues the TV performs well. It is plenty bright and the colors are very true.

I had a 46 inch Samsung which I loved, but sadly the LED backlight failed. I went online and ordered this TV at Black Friday pricing. I have a good friend who is the LG vendor rep for a large chunk of Florida, and he recommended this model. Well, after ordering the TV, I checked my online purchase history and discovered I had a 5 year warranty on the Samsung. I contacted the geek Squad, and they were out within 3 days. The tech examined it, made a call, and it was determined the Samsung would be junked and replaced. Later that day I contacted the Geek Squad again, and it turned out they could replace the Samsung with this exact TV! It was delivered and set up 4 days later, on a Saturday (and they hauled away the old one). It has an awesome picture, is 3 inches larger, 4K, and is my first "Smart" TV (although I probably won't use most of those features) and I am very happy. However, I would like to shut off the voice that talks every time you push a button. On a side note, I couldn't cancel my online order as it had already been processed. I picked it up at the local UPS, took it to my closest store, and my online purchase was promptly and cheerfully refunded. Yes, I did purchase the 5 year plan again. I normally don't buy these, but I am so glad I did. Best Buy absolutely stands by their service plans. I couldn't be happier with the way this transaction was handled.

    Great Tv, terrible wifi connection

Picked this up on Black Friday, been using for the past week and so far the picture and sound is amazing! I've used Netflix and several gaming consoles so far, and all of the graphics have been so crisp and clear. The sound is SO much better than my LG purchased last year, and I think they've added newer, easier features to change video, sound input, etc. since then, so I was extremely surprised how much easier it was so switch audio outputs. Only reason for 4 stars is that the wifi connection is kind of terrible. It'll drop signal in the middle of a show, and sometimes takes disconnecting to your wifi and reconnecting, which can be a pain when it's late at night and you just want to fall asleep to your show. Personally, I 100% know it's not our internet connection here, as we have a 200mb/s package, and our apartment was JUST rewired about 2 months ago with new cables. Our 55" LG purchased last year has had the same issue. It's not a deal breaker for me, since i have gaming consoles I can switch over to watch Netflix, but for some you might want to purchase a warranty in case the problem gets worse over the years. Personally, our 55" doesn't drop that frequently, but when (trying) to watch Hulu it gets frustrating...then again, i think it's just Hulu because it does the same on my xbox, although less frequently.

Awful design, had issues within three weeks

I excitedly purchased this new, supposedly decent (according to the salesperson at Best Buy) TV a month ago and within three weeks there were issues with the network connectivity. While watching Netflix the network stopped working and on further investigation, the TV was unable to find any WiFi to connect to. Thinking that it was an issue with my internet, I switched to my DVD player to see if Netflix would work via that route and it did, without issue. I thought that it was likely to be an isolated incident but it has now recurred three times in the last week. This issue and my displeasure has been compounded upon learning of Best Buy's atrocious 15 day return and exchange policy (not once was this mentioned in store before the TV was purchased). Their fantastic advise to helping me with this subpar product was to contact the manufacturer absolving themselves of all responsibility. I will see how LG approach rectifying this issue but needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with Best Buy's lack of customer service and will be extremely hesitant to use Best Buy for any future purchases.
