The device does have a USB port. I does not come with a USB cable. This player can play video, audio and photo files contained in the disc or USB device. This player supports USB flash drive/external HDD formatted in FAT32 and NTFS when accessing files (music, photo, movie). ^Daphane

The USB port is used to attach one external standalone USB drive (HDD, Flash) and NOT computers. This is for enjoyment of videos, movies, pictures, audio via either an optical disc or a USB drive.

But you did not answer my other question — is this Blu-Ray DVD drive compatible with my MacBook Pro Laptop or will I have to load software onto my Apple laptop. Please answer in simple terms. I”m not a geek.
