• Yes, and you can add water with Water Plus selection if you have that option.

• Yes, the “sensing” mode dictates how much water it will use. This was new for me as well but I find it helpful.

• It automatically weighs the load and adds the proper amount of water. You can manually add more if you choose. The control panel had a add water button. I have not found it necessary to use as of yet.
