Picture on glass refers to the cover on the panel. it will be glass, as opposed to plastic or whatever material manufacturers use. oled by definition has no backlighting, each individual pixel is it's own light source

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it is. The processor is more towards the bottom back of the tv, but the top half is just glass on glass. You have to see it to believe it. It'll blow your mind away as to how in the heck LG managed this design. Great product!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The picture on glass is the backing, not the cover and it's cosmetic only. Otherwise the other answer is correct, this OLED like all others does not require backlight as each pixel is "self-emmissive". This means individual pixels can also turn off and be totally black which makes the contrast ratio better than LED backlit TV's.
