It displays both HDR-10 PLUS Dolby Vision (another type of HDR... ) so when some movies aren't in one type, you might find it filmed in the other. For example, the current epic on Netflix, Marco Polo, is filmed in Dolby Vision. As this type of HDR is catching on, it is very good to have BOTH types of HDR in one TV like the LG offers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Both, in fact as of now LG is the only manufacturer that has this option and it will make a difference in future programming.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A TV or other device does not necessarily have to be able to handle HDR to handle DV. However, as there are only two displays on the market able to handle DV (Vizio P series and the LG 65UH7700) they also both handle HDR. The two "S's" only handle HDR and cannot be updated to be able to handle DV as this requires some specific hardware.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is an HDR tv, meaning it will support the "HDR" format. Dolby Vision is just a spin that is proprietary to a horrifying Vizio or LG. To do "dolby vision" it needs to be HDR. Similar tech, similar effect, different name.
