We have a 70" televison mounted over our fireplace. If yours is a wood burning fireplace that you use often, you may want to rethink mounting there. Heat and electronics dont mix. We have a pellet stove with triple wall insulated ductwork so heat isnt an issue for us. If you do still decide to mount over the fireplace, check to see if theres anything in the way of insulation behind the wall your mounting to.
