“I recently bought this and have used it to copy a few music CDs, but when I insert the disks, I have to push them almost completely in before the drive “grabs” it. Is that normal or is mine defective? I really don’t want to ruin the CDs.”

I have the same unit and don't have that issue...perhaps exchange it for another one

Discs need to be inserted all but 3/4 inch before they are sucked in. So ours behave similarly and seems like a design flaw to me.

I would not say it's an issue. However, if you start having issues with it not taking a CD, it would be recommended to have it replaced. ^ Jamal
