• A:Answer I bought an LG silver DVDRW/CDRW external double layer super multi disc drive. I don't know what double layer means but it did what I wanted. If you have a desktop with a dvd drive that stopped working, I highly recommend this product. I just plugged it in with the usb wire that was included and downloaded the software. I had 2 programs that I needed to install, photo explosion and vhs to dvd. I was finally able to install them. One thing I did pick up when reading the reviews, you should plug the usb wire into one of the usb outlets directly on the computer. Hope this helps since I'm a newbie also.

• A:Answer The LG 8x Portable DVD Rewriter with M-DISC™, Model # AP70NS50 can retrieve and/or store data on optical discs like CDs, or DVDs, any of which hold much more information than previously available portable media options like the floppy disk. There’s no difference between copying files, photos, MP3s or video files from a CD or DVD to your hard drive than from any other kind of storage or burning photos to a CD or DVD disc. If you have those photos saved on your computer, just insert a blank CD or DVD into the drive and click on My Computer and then click on the DVD drive to open a folder, open the folder in which you have saved the photos. Click on the photo files to highlight them and drag them over to the CD folder. Click on the "burn to disc" option and a burn wizard will appear to guide you through the CD burning process. When the wizard finishes, the files will be burned to the disc...^IFV

Q: QuestionIm looking to digitalize my 4,000+ dvd collection and was wondering if this would do the trick? How long does it take to burn a dvd onto your computer?

• A:Answer I use it to rip DVDs to an 8TB external hard drive using makemkv. Takes about 20 minutes per DVD. Could probably be faster but does not have a 3.0 USB connection.

• A:Answer Make sure u plug into a port on your envy that has blue on it and make sure the cord with the external drive has blue on it. One is data and one is not. Google it. My envy wud not work with my toshiba external drive becuz the cord had white so i bought this one n it was fine bc the cord is blue n it hooks into the the blue usb port
