    Great but the included software disc sucks

    It does the job! I was looking for a way to play my DVDs on my Windows 11 laptop and it is awesome. It isn't as modern-looking as other more expensive options; it's plastic/more retro-looking, like when DVDs were actually a popular thing which is kind of cool. It comes with a DVD that has media player software to download but it is insanely old and you have to pay to use it which was a hard pass so I just threw that away. I downloaded a free media player online instead called VLC which works perfectly with it to play both DVDs and CDs.

    Plays movie DVDs but not automatically

    The player comes with software for you to write DVDs and watch non movie DVDs. If you want it watch a movie DVD the software and even windows media player will prompt you to pay an additional fee. There is an open source workaround. Otherwise set up and use are very easy and it plays everything smoothly.
