“I have a new HP Envy 360 computer with windows. Will this disc player work with it? I could not figure out how to play a movie disc”

Make sure u plug into a port on your envy that has blue on it and make sure the cord with the external drive has blue on it. One is data and one is not. Google it. My envy wud not work with my toshiba external drive becuz the cord had white so i bought this one n it was fine bc the cord is blue n it hooks into the the blue usb port

It is compatible with the Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista™, Windows XP, and Windows 10 Operating Systems and also connects via USB. It comes with a software disc that you will need to install on your computer. You may want to contact the manufacturer for instructions on how to play movies on your computer or check the owner's manual. ^AC

So long as you were not trying to play a movie recorded for a blu-ray player this drive should play it. Are you sure you have the necessary software to play the movie and that the file extension of the movie on disc is associated with that software?
