Can I download software to my computer with this? null

I bought an LG silver DVDRW/CDRW external double layer super multi disc drive. I don't know what double layer means but it did what I wanted. If you have a desktop with a dvd drive that stopped working, I highly recommend this product. I just plugged it in with the usb wire that was included and downloaded the software. I had 2 programs that I needed to install, photo explosion and vhs to dvd. I was finally able to install them. One thing I did pick up when reading the reviews, you should plug the usb wire into one of the usb outlets directly on the computer. Hope this helps since I'm a newbie also.
