Yes . when the ice compartment on the door is full the compartment can be removed then put that ice in a tray that's located on the first freezer drawer.

The icemaker stops producing ice when the indoor ice bin is full. To make room for additional ice,
empty the ice bin into an extra ice bin in the freezer compartment. The Ice Storage Capacity  for in door is 2.5 lbs and 4.0 lbs for the bin in the freezer. Ice Plus function increases ice making capabilities, 3.8 lbs. Press the Ice Plus button to illuminate the icon and activate the function for 24 hours. The function automatically shuts off after 24 hours. Stop the function manually by pressing the button once more. ^Daphane
