“Is the older model pedestal (MODEL # LG 27) compatible with the new LG washer model Model # WM3400CW? My old washer (model #WM1814CW) broke but i would like to not have to buy another pedestal. I have already ordered a WM3400CW from Best Buy, thanks”

The pedestal compatible with the new washer (WM3400CW) is WDP4W. If your existing pedestal is model WDP3* it is compatible with the new washer. The LG - 27" Laundry Pedestal with Storage Drawer, Model # WDP4* replaced the WDP3* pedestal but they are both designed for compatibility with 27" LG Front Load Washers and Dryers. The only difference between them will be the mounting bracket installation. The WDP4* uses the t-clip installation method. ^Daphane

Your best bet would be to chat with customer support/Geek Squad online.. They helped me with my purchase as I was fitting a late model W&D to newer pedestals which is the opposite of your inquiry.
