“Hi, can this be used as built in by placing in the cabinet? Is it safe? What should be the space around the microwave to be given? My kitchen cabinet company said they will provide metal groove if trim kit is not available for the model I choose.”

if you have at least 3inches of clearance on sides and top in cabinet it should be fine. be aware that the ENTIRE length of the front door will open out.
