“Hi, the install guys didn’t install the “ top cover” before stacking the washer on top. What is the purpose of this cover?”

• When I watched an installation video there was a rectangle panel that had to be swung around 180 degrees and secured in that position. I would suppose it keeps the water from the sidekick where it belongs, but I don’t know.
