Why does the subwoofer go out once in a while? null

I had initially placed the Subwoofer in the corner of the room, about 8 feet away from the Left speaker, but not too far away from the Right speaker. It was cutting out so I moved the Subwoofer to be closer to the Left speaker. Now it is within 3 or 4 feet of the Left speaker and it has never cut out since.
