As an Over-the-range Microwave, the LG - 1.7 Cu. Ft. Convection Over-the-Range Microwave with Sensor Cooking - Black stainless steel, Model # LSMC3089BD has 2 grease filters underneath the unit that are designed to catch any airborne grease from the cooktop surface below it that can be removed and soaked in hot water and a mild detergent for cleaning. The unit also has a charcoal filter that needs to be replaced every 6 to 12 months that captures food smells from the cooktop. The charcoal filter is located behing the vent grille at the top of the unit...^IFV
