I had the same problem had a warranty on second one and got a replacement. They no longer make that model go figure. I don't think it's anything you've done think they are defective. They did replace it with the 1100 which is way better except the range isn't as good

If this doesn’t fix it try putting suction on it then listen , sometimes the wax gets pushed through the screen . If this continues try a pair of headphones that are not earbuds

The retractable wires for the earbuds are thin and if pulled too hard could break which might be one cause...^IFV
