Contrary to what Venette from LG has been answering on the questions here, NO the SPQ8-S rear speakers cannot connect to the SP8YA soundbar. Just tried to do it myself as I was told both by the in store employee and from the Q&As here that they would be compatible with any LG soundbar. However, per the manual that comes with the rear speakers, they are only compatibly with the following models: S90QY, DS90QY, DS90QY, S80QY, S80QY, DS80QY, DS80QY.

I too, tried for the sake of chance, and NO. These speakers ARE NOT compatible with the SP8YA soundbar. Once plugged in, they sit in paring mode, and will never link. Per the manual, website, and everything else besides the incompetent LG rep here. Please people, don't waste your time with this pairing.
