- Answer Contrary to what Venette from LG has been answering on the questions here, NO the SPQ8-S rear speakers cannot connect to the SP8YA soundbar. Just tried to do it myself as I was told both by the in store employee and from the Q&As here that they would be compatible with any LG soundbar. However, per the manual that comes with the rear speakers, they are only compatibly with the following models: S90QY, DS90QY, DS90QY, S80QY, S80QY, DS80QY, DS80QY.

- Answer Per the manual that comes with the rear speakers, they are only compatibly with the following models: S90QY, DS90QY, DS90QY, S80QY, S80QY, DS80QY, DS80QY.

- Answer LG's answer is wrong. The speakers connect to the SPQ8 receiver via speaker wires. The receiver connects to the soundbar wirelessly.

QuestionThese speakers are just playing background music and you can’t hear any other talking in a movie. Do I have something hooked up wrong or are these just for music? Thanks

- Answer You have to use the Lg app to enable the rears. I didn't know this until I downloaded the app and enabled it.

QuestionWhat Rear Speakers are compatible to SN4A Soundbar? I bought these speakers thinking they are LG of course they will be compatible with an LG product (soundbar). Nope. So what rear speakers are? I don't want to have to buy a whole new system.

- Answer I would think the SPQ8-S rear kit would work. I used to own the SN6Y soundbar and they used the SPK8-S kit. See attached for an answer from an LG representative.

- Answer Hi. The LG Wireless Rear Channel Speakers (Pair) - Black, Model # SPQ8-S were only compatible with select 2022 LG Soundbar models and we now have different LG Wireless Rear Channels Speakers that are compatible with 2023 or later Soundbar models and will not be replacing the SPQ-S...^Ivan.

It does not have Bluetooth or direct audio input options, so it won't connect directly to your iPhone or Samsung Smart TV.
